If overthinking was a sport, I’d probably be in the Olympics. I’m sure you’d be too, because overthinking is something that we do by default — especially in today’s world of non-stop notifications and never-ending opportunities to worry. It is part of our daily battle against the world and against our flesh. Every day we need to remind ourselves that Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33) and that through Him we have the peace beyond understanding. (Philippians 4:7)

So in that spirit, today I want to share with you 11 very important (and biblical) things that you can do for a better life, more peace of mind and better relationships with others, as well as for your walk with God. And the best part? You don't need to overthink about any of these because they are actions of the Spirit, not the flesh.

#1: Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Trusting in God is a daily exercise, because we are programmed by the world to believe we are the ones in control over everything that happens. Yet this is far from the truth. Only God is sovereign, and as a result learning to relate to Him is an ongoing practice against our flesh. Yet trusting is the opposite of overthinking, and ironically in surrender we find true freedom.
