The Futility of Worldly Desire
Desire. It’s the thing that makes the world go ‘round. At least that’s what culture tells us. But like the chorus we all know too well from the timeless Eurythmics song, “Sweet Dreams,” desire is a never-ending cycle of using and being used. As morbid as this may sound, grant me the benefit of the doubt to explain what I mean because the point of this will be well worth it.
But first, a little story. Maybe two.
