It is often that we get caught up in the world and it’s many affairs, and as a result we suffer. We suffer because we cannot control the outcome, and we are limited in time, resources and energy. The world is also cursed, according to the bible, along with our body, and all things are continually depreciating and dying. It is a constant struggle, and that is why the answer to this struggle is to fix our gaze on Christ — the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

Practicing gazing at Christ as we walk the narrow road is much like walking on a tight rope. The narrow road is narrow because the devil is on either side waiting to destroy you with dialectical schemes and deceptions, and he’s constantly pulling or pushing at you as you try to move forward. If you give him any attention, and take your eyes off of what is ahead, it will be easy to fall off balance.
