Many do not realize just how much evidence there is for Christianity, and also that God wants us to have plenty of it in our journey of faith with Him. While faith will always ultimately require a leap, and Jesus did tell us that we must approach Him like little children, (Matthew 18:3) God has generously offered plenty of proof for His existence, and the truth of the gospel revealed in Christ, so that we are not leaping into the dark.
