In the first book of the bible, a powerful picture is revealed to us on the sixth day: God created mankind in His image. What this means has been debated and discussed for centuries, and today my goal is less to prove one point over another but rather to show you a multi-faceted picture of what it means to be created in the image of God. I believe all of these views apply, because the things we see in the bible often have many correlations to other things. God works on dimensions of thinking and creativity we can’t even comprehend, yet by studying His work we can marvel and give Him praise and this is what matters.

The Human Condition

There are many animals that are intelligent, use tools and even behave altruistically. These are all signatures of our Creator, yet with mankind we see uniquely distinct qualities that make us different from all of the other creations on Earth. We can write poetry, we can play music, we can dance, we can solve complex equations, we can create advanced plans and we have the widest range of emotions of any created being.
