Tudor, this is so good, and like you say it is freeing. The phrase, you can't have a sovereign God and a sovereign man in the same room, is so profound. I think it comes down to that word everybody hates 'submit'? Or too many Chiefs and not enough indians, comes to mind. I've been listening to your teaching "why we need salvation", I hope that's the right title over and over and continue to get something from it every time. Thanks for all your work and dedication. God bless you. PS, so salvation truly is a miracle. I was lost, blind, dead.

There are many biblical authors who speak of us us having choices. Perhaps you could say in His sovereignty God gives us freedom to choose

Nobody ever said you don't make choices. The issue is can you choose free of all influence? No, because that would mean choosing free of God's influence.

Trying to train myself to reason as you, Tudor. Truly, you have God-given, far-seeing, blessed intellect. I thank Him for your teachings.

Thank for your reply. Tudor. Point taken but, as Iview it, there is a difference between influence and complete control of our will where that eradicates choice.

The distinction you're looking for is primary and secondary causes, remote and immediate causes. Not influence and control, because those don't label what's happening correctly.

My friend, I say this in genuine friendliness, because we have all been where you are, but I don't think you have listened to the previous episodes. I guarantee you would benefit greatly from going back to the episode entitled “the mystery of faith”. I hope very much that you are willing to go back to that episode and then move forward through the series. This subject requires more than “dip in and dip out” listening. It'll be worth it to grow ! Enjoy your journey and praise God you're willing to learn ! Have a great weekend!
